Four Things That Hubbers Should Always Do - For Newbies
Write + Read + Engage + Share = Success
I just talked to a friend of mine who is a fellow journalism student. He is currently working in one of the biggest broadcasting companies here in Manila as a production assistant in a certain radio news program. Despite what others believe, being in the media industry here in the Philippines is not a prestigious and glamorous profession. He was so stressed and he’s struggling financially so he wants to make a little paradigm shift. I asked him to stretch his muscles a little bit and do some online business while he’s working.
Thus, I encouraged him to join Hubpages and sent him my referral link. However, it is still unclear to him how this business goes. He doesn’t know want else should he do aside from writing what he’s passionate about. I cannot address his query through the Facebook chat box so I told him that Google is very reliable friend. But I realized, why Google, if he can talk to me in person or just read my hub directly? Allow me to give some basic tips in how he some other newbies can prosper in Hubpages by writing what their hearts utters and desires.
Write
Writing hubs is the heart of Hubpages. This is a sanctuary of people who would like to share their thoughts to the world. This is what’s great about HP. They allow us to express our thoughts on things that we want to talk about. We have the liberty to post whatever we want. However, liberty comes with great responsibility and some limitations. That is the reason why the site has come up with policies that everyone should follow.
Engage
As what I have mentioned, Hubpages is an online community. As part of that community, you should take responsibility in engaging yourself to the current happenings within the group. That is why there are Q&A and forum pages in Hubpages and comment boxes in hubs. They want to know what you’re up to, how are you doing and they want to share you to share your fire to other people within the circle. Just imagine a piece of hot coal. If you throw it away from other fiery ones, it will lose its heat and die in a matter of a few minutes. As what they always says, “No man in an island”. I say, “No hubber is a loner”. Hence, build your links while building friendship. Connect to others while connecting closer to success. Engage and earn.
Read
Don’t just write and write and write. It will definitely tire you up. The reason why people are writing on Hubpages is not just to earn. These hubs are written to be read in the first place. Why read? Reading other hubs is part of immersing yourself to mob. You read to help, you read to learn. So, when you are in Hubpages, don’t be narcissist. Get that cursor working and click the “Hop Some Hubs” button and behold what others have in store for the world.
Share
Sharing of one’s hub should always be practiced. If you think that a certain article is worth sharing to others, do not hesitate to hit the share button and spread the word. For me, if an article is useful and I know that it can help other people grow in one way or another, I will definitely share it. This act is like extending your hands to others and there are so many ways how you can act your part. You can tick the share buttons and link these hubs to your Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites that can provide backlinks. You may also include links on hubs that you deem would compensate the ideals of your written articles. Do this and you’ll surely reap what you sow ten folds.
