Crazy Weight Loss Ideas Debunked!
79Because there is no short-cut to weight loss, I listed some crazy ideas other people are doing to get those glorious curves and abs.
When I was a kid, I used to watch the TV shopping programs the featured various products that range from knives, food processors, carrot juicers and even abs machine. One of the most unforgettable products that I have ever encountered was the slimming soap. I was really amazed how taking a bath can make you lose an inch or two. I know it sounds crazy but in the mind of a kid, it was magic. In fact, they even dipped the soap in water along with a thick slice of pork laden with rich layer of fat. Truly, the commercial really encouraged me that there is such thing as instant-weight loss.
Growing up, I learned that there are no-short cuts in the most crucial events of life. I always wanted to skip high school and college to earn money. When I was 14, I always wanted to turn 18 as fast as possible to get a wife and watch my dad’s porn collection without the guilt. Indeed, everything is a process. You really have to take it one step at a time. It might be hard to accept but losing weight is really a step by step process. It takes time and hard work for you to be able to achieve your goals.
As of the moment, the memories of that slimming soap are still fresh on my mind. In fact, my colleagues and I are talking about it as part of our laugh-trip. I realized how I was when I believe such kind of crazy idea. So I came up with random thoughts of discussing some crazy ideas that people can do in order to lose weight.
Gore vs. Appetite – I know, this is really crazy. I remember in high school, a group of girls invited me for a birthday party. It was a party full of everything red. There were spaghetti and other red-sauced Filipino dished that are traditional served in birthday parties. While eating inside a private room, one of the girls dared every one of us to watch a gore movie while eating. We played the CD containing the Cannibal Holocaust movie and watched it while eating saucy spaghetti and pork dinuguan (pork blood stew). Halfway through the R-Rated scenes, someone shouted stop and puked. I ended up turning the TV off and laugh my ass off. After that, majority of the girls were terrified and can’t even eat. I have to admit, it was a puke-inducing moment. Watching gory movies like that halted my craving especially seeing someone being barbecued by other people.
Get Cholera and the Deadliest Diseases – If you want an instant weight loss technique that will not force you to do some dead lifts, jogging and diet, getting sick is the answer. I know getting cholera is no joke. It is deadly but it will surely make your lose the unwanted flab on your body, your beauty, you energy and even your life in a matter of days.
“Forced” Anorexia – This is the disorder that I usually hear on Hollywood gossips and scoops. If you are familiar with the song “Don’t let me get me” by Pink, there was a scene in the girls’ washroom where one girl would insert the tip of a toothbrush inside her mouth and tap her tonsil to puke. It is a bit weird that such act would happen in real life. It’s crazy that after feasting on your favorite food, you would force yourself to puke it out. Anorexia is a serious disorder that has to be cured as early as possible. It is funny how other people would sacrifice the taste of even a piece of bread just to get a Hollywood thin physique. They should wake up to the fact that being too thin is not beautiful.
The Sauna Belt – I don’t believe that losing weight is as easy as placing a so called sauna belt around a flabby area and let it sweat to the core without doing anything else at all. Well, it is crazy how people deemed such kind of thought. But I know that it would be effective if you wear it around a flabby area while doing cardio workouts, right?
Slimming Tea – Just like the sauna belt, this slimming tea said to give your favorable results in a matter of days. How can you possibly lose your weight in day by just taking tea everyday and sitting on your precious toilet bowl as frequent as 8- 10 times?
Weird Diets and Wrong Practices – Diet without exercise is like faith without action, it is dead. I have encountered so many kinds of diet in my 22 years of existence and I wouldn’t dare mention those one by one. People always have the misconceptions about it that they don’t really need to flex their muscles to get the body that they want. I know at some point that every kind of diet is actually effective. However, people do no execute it the right. Without sufficient knowledge, these diets will surely fall into pit.
Eating Imaginary Meal – I saw a TVC of an instant noodles way back. It showed three women with their own diet regimen. The one that captivated my attention was the last girl who said she was eating an imaginary grape. A few seconds later, she fades. Not eating your meal is one of the things that one shouldn’t do. It is risqué and totally dangerous. Not taking your meals will not help you lose weight. It is not a good practice because our body needs energy to function properly. Eating “imaginary” meals can cause even more health conflicts.
